Rotary Outmoetai recently gifted $100 worth of plantings and organised a Rotary Working Bee, a small number of Rotarians helped with the plantings and maintenance of other areas in the park, the park is a stunning asset for the city of Tauranga and the club is honored to be involved with the Te Puna Quarry Park Society.
The club has a strong focus on supporting the community. In the Te Puna Quarry Park you will find a Rotary Garden, and a Sensory Garden, which was developed to enable the blind to touch and feel the plants. With a sign in braille outlining the purpose of the garden. The path through the garden is concreted and gives access to all persons with a disability, and with signage in braille outlining the purpose of the garden.
